Maybe it's because the N7 Valkyrie has a small clip size, but it seems like I spend more time waiting for it to cool down than I do shooting the damn thing.Īlso, I don't think the clip size weapon mods do anything if you're using the vintage heat sink. I've used it for awhile now, and I don't really like it. I thought it was a no-brainer, and put it on my rifle as soon as I could. What are your thoughts on the Vintage Heat Sink weapon augment? It only has one round in the clip, but it does an absurd amount of damage - often as much as 2 or 3 shots from other sniper rifles. For sniper rifles, I like the Isharay (Heleus) sniper rifle. I can basically just hold down the fire button and never have to stop for reloading.įor shotguns, I really like the Dahn (Heleus) one - it fires a single "shell" and does a ton of damage. Really tears through things at short/medium range, sounds nice, feels good to fire.Īlso had a good time with the Revenant assault rifle (Milky Way section) with augments for stability (I always use these for assault rifles), plasma seeking, and bio-leech (I think that's what it's called - when your clip runs out, you take 5% health damage and it automatically refills your clip). I don't remember the name), added the augments for electrical currents, stability, and clip size.

I took the Remnant beam assault rifle (not the Sweeper, the other one. I haven't been able to find the ultra rare ones (beam augment, plasma seeking, etc), but the others are there.įor crafting, I actually found the game a lot better once I finally found a weapon I liked. There are quite a few augments you can buy. You can't buy more copies, unfortunately :( To answer your question, when you research an augment you get one copy of it and then it's added to the loot tables (you can find more from enemies/chests/whatever). What are your guys' experiences with the system so far? Any interesting pointers? however if its unlimited then I might as well not even bother! Do you have to research it again each time you use it or are they unlimited once you've researched it? I spent 200points on this really cool Remnant Augment that changed how my shields functioned but I haven't installed it yet as I'm saving it up for a better blueprint. One thing I'm not clear on is the researched Augments. So an item might say "Chest: 30% Damage Resistance once shields are depleted, Legs: Deploy a Cryoblast after a jump attack".

Most augments will come with different properties depending on which class of item you've attached them too (ie. I've noticed you can find any number of unique and varying augments in your travels items as mundane and boring as 5% bonuses to as exciting as turning your sniper into a long range grenade launcher or a beam weapon.

Its similar to Dragon Age Inquisitions system at a glance, maybe a little bit more streamlined with the augments system, but I guess it operates similiarly to Fade-Touched materials from DA:I. I'm just starting to get my feet wet with the new crafting system in the game, and it seems pretty in depth.
